Curiosity keeps leading us down new paths. We have assembled below a few questions that our curious visitors have asked us time and again. We hope that by the end of this page all your curiosity will be successfully sated.

What type of non-profit organisation is WNY Book Arts Center?
The Western New York Book Arts Center is a 501 (c) 3 educational non-profit. We are a public charity that receives most of our income from public support. We aim to promote a broader understanding and appreciation of the book arts through workshops and field trips.

What are the book arts?
Book arts are the various creative activities involving paper and books. These include letterpress, papermaking, screen painting, book making, and paper marbling. At WNY Book Arts Center we strive to involve our members in the creative process of creating handmade paper, cards, and books.

Why should I become a member?
With a WNY Book Arts Center membership you get a 20% discount on workshops and a 10% discount in our Boutique. Members also get invitations to our exclusive events and are recipients of our Member-only newsletter. You get a chance to use studio equipment during Open Studio sessions and your finished products are showcased in our annual Members’ Exhibition. WNYBAC is an educational non-profit and your membership helps support our mission and fund our events. Please join us!

How does WNY Book Arts Center strive to fulfil its educational mission?
As part of WNYBAC’s educational mission, we strive to provide field trips that meet NYS standards and cross curricula to enrich each student’s learning experience. Our workshops and field trips allow future generations to understand the pivotal role printed books hold in our history. We provide letterpress printing, screen printing, and book making workshops for school and college groups of all ages.

How can I support WNY Book Arts Center?
Community support is extremely crucial to the growth of WNYBAC. You can show your support by joining our organisation as a member or donating to our mission. You can also attend our various events and exhibitions to help foster the WNYBAC community. Our merchandise is available for sale in our brick-and-mortar Boutique as well as our online Etsy store.
